Brisbane Water Brass - Who we are ...
Brisbane Water Brass is a community brass band on the NSW Central Coast. The band was formed in November 2003 by a small group of enthusiastic brass players. Brisbane Water Brass brings together people with a wide range of musical experience and ability, from professional musicians, to relatively inexperienced players with a desire to improve their skills.
Brisbane Water Brass has the simple aims of making good music in a friendly, supportive environment, and sharing this music with the community. The band is fortunate to have secured the services of Jonathan Gatt as its Musical Director. Jonathan is a highly accomplished brass player, teacher, examiner and conductor. He is also the Vice-President of the NSW Brass Band Association. Under Jonathan's direction, the band has developed an extensive repertoire of traditional, popular and modern pieces.
Brisbane Water Brass welcomes the opportunity to play at social, community and charity events. During the past year, the band has played at over 20 such functions. The band practices at 8 pm each Tuesday at Phillip House (the home of the Rotary Club of Kariong/Somersby), 21 Old Mount Penang Road, Kariong. The band would welcome enquiries from prospective players.
